這支Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Standard 結他珍貴的地方除了是50週年紀念版外，更罕有的地方這支是‘Pre-Production ’的版本，以Pilot Run樣品形式推出，並非在常規計劃生產線內，所以僅僅生產20支，並全部採用手寫的獨立編號，這代表3個不同琴頸粗度的版本全部加起來才僅此20支，對比R8/R9 的Pilot Run 的產量更稀少及罕有。而這批’Pilot Run’ Gibson 公司更是從不對外公開發售，都是在‘Namm Show’ 樂展內預留給最頂級的代理，而最後是去到一些結他收藏家手上，極少在市場上出現。而在這批20支的’Pilot Run’版本後Gibson公司也緊接著於同年推出限量500支的Gloss 50週年版本，所有制造/配置及顏色上都是以‘Pre-Production’ 為基礎的。如果你是一位結他收藏家，這支結他是你絕對不能錯過的！！
