The guitar has a heavily aged appearance, including the body scars and hardware configuration, which are almost identical to the first signature model released by the Custom Shop in 2002. In addition, this guitar is a higher level Hand Selected limited edition, with the wood, weight, and grain all carefully selected and crafted by experts. Overall, the guitar has excellent resonance and a fantastic appearance, and is made to the same True Historic specifications as the top-level Gibson models, with a superior sound and overall quality.

The Custombucker Alnico III pickups, which are unpotted, are closer in sound to the classic PAF pickups of the original Les Paul Standard. The Luxe handmade capacitors also enhance the vintage sound of the guitar. The guitar comes with a 60th Anniversary limited edition gold certificate and a special Hand Selected certificate.
