One of the most collectable R9s of all Historic era, the "Murphy Painted" Les Pauls have great Tom Murphy's touch. Nobody and I mean nobody can paint a guitar like Tom Murphy and color of these guitars is just so close to an original.

During Tom Murphy time at Gibson, he has painted the first 25 R9's from 1993 and the first 200 from 1994, until he left the factory in November 2nd of that year. Also the guitar with the certificate proved owned by one of Rock, Blues & Jazz great guitarist Mr.Johnny A. & he also signed on the back electronic cavity cover.

So here we have one of those beautiful guitar, with a KILLER MAPLE TOP, Jaw-dropping from every different angle! This was a time when Gibson putting extra emphasis on the flame top, lightweight Honduran mahogany body only 4.02kg, known Historic series made between 1994-1999 are from the ‘Good Wood’ era.

This guitar not only looks incredible, it sounds it too!! The tone and playability is unlike any other reissue ever done before with great clarity that is focused and very articulate with that Les Paul vintage punch. The guitar is very touch sensitive and very violin like the way the strings break over the nut and sustains for days.
